Privacy Notice
Effective 25 June 2026
1. Information we use
Depending on how you use KidCircle, we may process account and contact details, profile information, approximate location and postcode data, local rollout interest and notification consent, posts and images, event and Pro profile information, opening hours, reports, advertising enquiries, communications, login/security records and technical usage data.
2. Why we use it
We use information to provide accounts and local discovery features, show relevant content, operate Pro and advertising services, communicate with you, prevent misuse, moderate reports, secure the service, meet legal duties and understand how KidCircle is used. Our legal bases may include performance of a contract, legitimate interests, consent and compliance with legal obligations, depending on the activity.
3. Location and children
Location is used to make content locally relevant and should be limited to what is necessary. KidCircle member accounts are intended for adults. Because the service concerns families and may include information about children, users must avoid unnecessary identifying details and obtain appropriate permission before posting a child's image or personal information.
4. Sharing
Public profile, post and event information is visible to other users. We may share information with hosting, email, mapping, security, payment and professional service providers acting under appropriate safeguards, and with authorities where required by law or needed to protect people and the service. We do not sell children's personal data.
5. Retention and security
We retain information only as long as reasonably needed for the purpose collected, including account operation, local launch notification, report handling, fraud prevention, disputes and legal duties. People waiting for a local launch can unsubscribe using the link provided in the launch email. We use proportionate technical and organisational safeguards, but no internet service can guarantee absolute security.
6. Your rights
UK data protection law may give you rights to access, correct, erase or restrict your information, object to certain processing, receive portable data and withdraw consent. Rights can depend on the circumstances and lawful basis. Contact us to make a request.
7. Contact and complaints
Use our contact form for privacy requests. It creates a communication ticket for KidCircle Admin. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
